Where is the nonferrous metal industry heading for in 2012?
Since two years ago, 2012 has been a pop topic. Regardless of the doomsday rumor, the change of economic and industrial environment has brought about new problems for the development of nonferrous metal industry. Confronted with pessimistic and optimistic views, non-ferrous metals industry will step into a new year of opportunities and challenges. Six months later, ALUMINIUM CHINA, the largest exhibition of non-ferrous metals in Asian-Pacific region, will open with special pavilions for COPPER CHINA and MAGNESIUM CHINA. As an acknowledged leader in the industry, the progress of the event preparation becomes a concern for the public.
2011 marks the beginning of 12th Five-Year-Plan. During 12th Five-Year-Plan, the outstanding features of national macroscopic development are adjustment of economical structure and transformation of economical development. In such a situation, all enterprises are required to adjust their philosophy, integrate resources, shift financial and material resources, manpower and energy from overplaying increase of productivity and expansion of enterprise for a long time to focusing on technological innovation, structural adjustment and industrial upgrade. It is undeniable that Chinese non-ferrous metals industry is large in scale but not strong. Central policy of transformation of economical development and all kinds of issued policies and policies to be issued are constructive to narrow the gap between non-ferrous metal industry in China and that in developed countries and to accelerate the transformation from a processing country to a real power.
China has made some achievements in the strategic adjustment of economical structure in the almost past year. In 2012, Chinese non-ferrous metals industry will completely change and stride forward through endogenous growth and innovation. Regardless of economical uncertainties, demands of application areas are strong support for advance of non-ferrous metals industry. ALUMINIUM CHINA 2012, the first exhibition of non-ferrous metals in Asian-Pacific region, with MAGNESIUM CHINA and COPPER CHINA of Shanghai International Industrial Materials Exhibition in the same period, will create opportunities for mutual communication, penetration and influence between Chinese and global industrial chain. Six months later, it will open in Shanghai New International Expo Center. How is the exhibition going on? Does industrial reform bring any influence? With such questions, the author has an interview with the organizer, Reed Exhibitions.
It is reported key non-ferrous metal enterprises at home and abroad like Aluminium Corporation of China, Nanshan Aluminium, Hailiang Group, Wieland Metals Inc, and AMGAIN and over 450 domestic enterprises engaged in all elements of copper and magnesium industrial chain will attend the 8th ALUMINIUM CHINA and the 2nd Shanghai International Industrial Materials Exhibition. And it is estimated in the unprecedented exhibition over 15,000 representatives of industries in China, Asia and 90 global counties or regions and people in application areas will come together. There are different ways to develop the industry of non-ferrous metals. The promising trend is well displayed by the platform of exhibitions of the industry.
ALUMINIUM CHINA: creating a docking platform for the upstream and downstream businesses by focusing on the application area and export market
With uncertainties of future and spot markets, industrial chain related with aluminium industry is being tested. In recent five years, problems of overcapacity of aluminium in China are still not tackled. Although macro-control measures are issued every year, productivity of aluminium is on a higher level year by year. In the first half year of 2011, our production of aluminium is 8.643 million tons, up by 5.6% year on year and it is estimated in the next half year it will continue to increase to 22.8 million tons by the end of the year. Meanwhile, according to the CIQ data, China import 10838 tons primary aluminium, up by 40% year on year in September compared with last year. Regarding the country of origin, China mainly imports primary aluminium from Australia, Russia, Amman, South Africa, North Korea, Iran and Taiwan etc.
Against such an industrial background, ALUMINIUM CHINA is now in its eighth year. How to convey values for the industry is a main task for Reed Exhibitions as an organizer. With domestic and foreign markets developing shoulder to shoulder, Reed focuses on enlisting international visitor and delegations of visitor from Asian-Pacific, European and American and Middle-East regions. The exhibition of aluminium insists on further exploration of resources at home and abroad. Supported by industry associations in several developed districts of aluminium industry like Shanghai, Guangdong and Henan, Reed still adheres to the strategy of “going out and coming in” in the preparation for exhibition this year, and takes the initiative to negotiate with associations of aluminium in America, Japan, Turkey, India and Sweden based on its global resources of Reed and Aluminium Exhibition in order to make delegations of exhibitors and visitors attend. Through creation of business opportunities, promotion of cooperation and realization of transactions and based on rich resources in Yangtze River Delta, ALUMINIUM CHINA will be highly recognized by global industry after seven years of development. With the issued development plan of aluminium industry in the new period, it will become the leading exhibition of aluminium in Asian-Pacific region again.
During 12th Five-Year-Plan, our country requires companies to pay more attention to technological innovation, structural adjustment and industrial upgrade. In such a big situation, issuing of strategic trends of companies, demonstration of new technologies and introduction of new equipment become especially important. Financial crisis, also a good opportunity to adjust, will open new doors if appropriately used. ALUMINIUM CHINA is a professional commercial platform for face-to-face understanding of demands of companies and downstream purchasers and their cooperation, and for creating rare opportunities to obtain latest technologies, product upgrading and reform. It can be seen that confronted with financial crisis, Aluminum China will have constellation effects of industries and show vitality of development of aluminium industry.
ALUMINIUM CHINA 2012 will be an in-depth conversation between international aluminium industry and Chinese aluminium industry once again. Well-known enterprises at home and abroad are still confident in aluminum industry and passionate with aluminum exhibition this year. On the occasion, China-made leading enterprises like Aluminium Corporation of China, Nanshan Aluminium, Guangya Aluminium and Nanping Aluminium and oversea magnates like Qatar Aluminum, Furukawa-Sky Aluminium, SMS Demag and FATAHunter will attend and major industries like Germany Aluminium Association and Brazil Aluminium Association will organize delegations of visitor to attend. In such an exhibition that covers all elements of global industrial chain of aluminum and surpasses other aluminium exhibitions through global participation and unique positioning in Asian-Pacific region, the exhibitors will be especially exposed to the globally active and most important Chinese export market.
It is estimated the exhibition will attract 450 exhibitors from 30 countries or regions and 15,000 professional visitors of application industries like architecture, automobile manufacturing, packaging, electronics, electricity, hardware, machinery manufacturing in over 90 countries, which almost covers the whole industrial chain. Reed has made great efforts to achieve these goals in the earlier stage. Based on business scope of exhibitors in former exhibitions and products purchased by visitors, the project team of aluminium exhibition makes a quantitative analysis to know what visitors are demanded. It is reported that the aluminium exhibition this year pays more remarkable attention to promotion of the exhibition and invitation of visitor than before. As for weaker industries, Reed will attract representative enterprises with purchasing power through different methods and in-depth exploration of industry resources.
ALUMINIUM CHINA will continue to depend on resources in Yangtze River Delta to promote regional communication and cooperation of global aluminium industry and create a highly-efficient commercial platform that covers the whole industrial chain of aluminium and play its role in promoting industrial development and structural adjustment.
MAGNESIUM CHINA: The grand industry gathering hosted by World’s No.1 Magnesium producer Brings Magnesium to Life!
Chinese magnesium industry has been a miracle of rapid development for 10 years. Reservation of magnesium, productivity, output and export of raw magnesium rank first in the world. Hence the development of Chinese magnesium industry is closely related with the future of global industrial chain of magnesium. Shanghai International Industrial Materials Exhibition and ALUMINIUM CHINA will show strength of Chinese magnesium industry to the world in the industrial center in Asia and promote further communication with global enterprises. In recent years, magnesium is widely used in automobile manufacturing, 3C and air traffic and others, which displays its great potential. Exhibitions of aluminum and magnesium industries in the same period and same hall will provide more convenient channels, more trade opportunities and information for exhibitors and buyers to pursue win-win effects all the way.
After the big success of the exhibition in 2011, the magnesium exhibition this year will attract leading magnesium smelting and processing enterprises at home and abroad, supplies of related equipment and technologies and over 3,000 industry participants, purchasers and researchers from China, Asia and other countries to create a world-class commercial platform for professionals in the whole industrial chain to seize trade opportunities, expand commercial connection and receive education or training. They also indicate they really look forward to Magnesium China, an international commercial platform, and wish for rapid growth of magnesium industry, and more convenient communication between buyers and manufacturers, more accurate seizure of opportunities of future development and better service for the whole industry application in the key period of national key promotion plans.
Since development of Chinese magnesium industry provides great opportunities for technological communication and product application of magnesium industry in the world, MAGNESIUM CHINA 2012 will be a good and now-or-never chance for professional manufacturers to display their technologies and seize business opportunities. New products will be launched here, new cooperation relationship will be established and new goals will be set here!
COPPER CHINA: Bringing Copper to Life!
China is the largest global consumption country of copper and copper processing and manufacturing base in the world. In recent years, with the continuously heated consumption of copper at home and abroad, Chinese copper industry has developed rapidly and its export has increased. The world copper processing center is shifted to China constantly and trend of Chinese market becomes a global concern. So far, output of copper tubes in China has ranked first in the world. Strongly competed by Chinese copper tubes, some original big manufacturers of copper tubes are greatly affected and forced to shut down or curtail their processing enterprises or expand oversea market, such as China and other developing countries. Refined copper tubes are our main export products, of which export and import respectively account for 76% and 83% of the total export and import of copper tubes. Refined copper tubes are exported to many countries. Export to the first four countries accounts for 46.02% and the largest part is exported to America.
In 2011, Reed Exhibitions, the globally biggest organizer, made a great success of COPPER CHINA 2011 for the first time in the most active market of copper. Jointed with the leading Aluminum China, it has attracted over 14,000 professional visitors and buyers from 83 countries or regions and made solid progress in becoming the globally leading non-ferrous metal feast. The exhibition is the first time to absorb themes of copper, magnesium and composite and to launch a new brand of Shanghai International Industrial Materials Exhibition in the market. It is reported the exhibition is the first industry exhibition that adopts such a way globally. After attending COPPER CHINA 2011, Mr. Wang Bin, general manager of marketing center in Zhejiang Hailiang Co., Ltd, said, “I attend Reed aluminum exhibition each year and attended COPPER CHINA this year. Thanks for providing an excellent display platform to attract so many new buyers and bring a new opportunity for copper industry.”
In 2012, COPPER CHINA will establish a world-class commercial platform of creating trade opportunities, expanding commercial connection and receiving education or training again for world top copper processing enterprises and representatives of application industry that urgently needs solutions of related materials. The private make-to-order sourcing fair for Tyco Electronics in 2011 achieved lots of unexpected effects. The professional commercial platform created rare opportunities for face-to-face understanding of demands of companies and downstream purchasers and their cooperation, and obtaining latest technologies, product upgrading and reform through preparation for understanding purchasing demands of enterprises in the earlier stage and contact with global suppliers in the later stage. As required by Tyco Electronics, the exhibition in 2012 will continue to organize a private sourcing fair for Tyco Electronics, and plan to make a bigger private sourcing fair of non-ferrous metals for Foxconn Technology Group in Global 500. It is estimated the exhibition will attract giants of copper industries like Hailiang Group and Wieland and representatives of copper industry in China, Asia and other countries and people in application areas. A new record of exhibitors shows this exhibition will scale new heights and China will undoubtedly represent its vitality in copper industry to the world.
If doomsday story is true, Aluminium China and Shanghai International Industrial Materials Exhibition will be the Noah's Ark of non-ferrous metal industry!
