In 2022, the increase in China's electrolytic aluminium production mainly depends on the resumption of production capacity

Due to the dual control of energy consumption, rising electricity prices, emergencies and other reasons, China's operating production capacity of electrolytic aluminium in 2021 has dropped from a peak of 40 million tons in April to 38.05 million tons in December, and the operating rate has dropped from 93.7% to 88.8%. In the same year, the production of electrolytic aluminium decreased 3.72 million tons in total.

Since December 2021, electrolytic aluminium enterprises in Inner Mongolia, Yunnan, Henan and other places have begun to restore production capacity that was suspended due to energy consumption control. According to statistics from Shanghai Nonferrous Metals Network and other institutions, China's electrolytic aluminium enterprises plan to restore production capacity of 5.455 million tons from 2021 to 2022. -By February 2022, the production capacity has resumed - 2.17 million tons. It is estimated that the production capacity still to be resumed in 2022 will be 3.285 million tons.
